Hey LRGC member rifle shooters -
Time to get those 22 cal rifles out of the safe, dust them off and bring them to the range.
If you are new to rifle shooting or would just like some assistance in getting your shooting technique squared away - this session is for you.
You will need to bring the following:
1) Your 22 cal rifle (in a case) - any sights will do that you want to shoot with. Iron or optics are fine.
2) Ammo appropriate for your rifle - high or standard velocity 22 LR.
Please bring a few different ammo types to try so you can determine which shoots best in your rifle. I suggest about 150 rounds - maybe 3 boxes: 1 of each of 3 types.
3) Ear protection that doesn't interfere with your rifle stock when you shoot.
4) Clear eye protection that will stay properly on your head while shooting. Anti-fog spray might also help with clarity.
5) The appropriate tool to adjust your sights. This will be required to properly sight in your rifle.
6) If you have a spotting scope (or a pair of binoculars) - bring along as they would be quite useful.
We will spend the session: 1) working on sighting in your rifle, 2) testing ammo in your rifle to see what works best, and 3) working on proper shooting technique. We will start by shooting benchrest and then we will work on the other shooting positions: standing, kneeling, and prone. Let's start by shooting without shooting-aids like slings or shooting jackets.
Please register for this session so we know you are coming. Thanks!
